A delightful 2-bedroom maisonette first floor apartment . This first-floor Portobello condo is only 120 metres from the beach and seaside promenade at the west end of Portobello in Edinburgh.
This first-floor self-catering holiday let consists of a kitchen and lounge/dining room, bathroom and two bedrooms (1 double & 1 twin room).
This apartment makes an ideal and convenient touring base which is surprisingly close to Edinburgh city. Thus, you can leave your car keys on the dining table and explore Edinburgh on public transport. Public transport in Edinburgh is both cheap and plentiful and a double-decker bus offers such a good viewing platform which kids of all ages just love. Portobello itself is a mix of classic British seaside resort with all the bawdy but nice charm that suggests. It's a rather nice town that Edinburgh swallowed up some time ago. 1) From the South
Follow the A1 and at Old Craighall Junction Continue straight ahead A1 (Edinburgh East & North, Leith, Park & Ride). See 5 below
2) From Edinburgh Airport
At the roundabout, take the 1st exit. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Eastfield Rd ‘Exit all Routes (A8). At the roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on Eastfield Rd. Slight left towards Glasgow Rd/A8 'Edinburgh City Bypass A720 A8'. Take the A720 slip road to City Bypass/South Gyle. See 4 below
3) From Glasgow Airport & the West
The M8 ends at a roundabout Hermiston Gait and you will turn right 'City Bypass South A720'. So, at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A71/A720 slip road to Edinburgh West/City Centre/Kilmarnock/West Calder/City Bypass South. Keep right, follow signs for A720/City Bypass South and merge onto A720. See 4 below
4) From Glasgow & Edinburgh Airports & the West
At the roundabout on the A720, take the 4th exit onto A720 heading to Berwick upon Tweed/A1/Edinburgh South & East. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit and stay on A720 heading to Berwick Upon Tweed/A1/Edinburgh East & North/Musselburgh/Leith. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A1 slip road to Edinburgh/Leith.
5) From All points Including the South and A1
Follow previous directions.
Continue ahead on the A1 and pass signs for Queen Margret University and the Park & Ride. At the roundabout take the second exit and move immediately to the right hand lane going straight ahead at the traffic lights following signs for Portobello, Leith and A199. Follow signs for Portobello and at next traffic lights be in the right hand lane turning right. Turn Right onto Portobello High Street. Turn First left onto West Bank Street, this junction is opposite Aldi the supermarket. Turn second left and follow the road until you see King Street on a building wall on your right. Turn in right and park. Climb the three stairs at the end of the car park. Locate 10/1 Hill Coat Loan and press the white doorbell button.

From Edinburgh Airport
A taxi from Edinburgh Airport (journey 30 minutes) will be about £30. Ask to travel across town locate 6/3 Great Cannon Bank.
A bus from Edinburgh Airport, walk (2 mins) and take Airport bus number 100 towards Edinburgh. Change busses at Haymarket close to Haymarket Rail station. Take the number 26 bus towards Tranent or Seaton Sands and get off at King's Road and Walk (4 mins) and locate 6/3 Great Cannon Bank. Airport Bus 100 = £4:50/adult & £2/child. 26 Bus = £1:50/adult & £0.70/child. 2 adults from airport £12 Journey 1¼ hours.
From Waverley Railway Station
A taxi from Waverley railway station (journey 13 minutes) will be about £10.
